About Risk Converter

What is Risk Converter?

Risk Converter provides comparisons for not only number formats and charts, but also to everyday activities.

Want to know how risky a procedure is compared to skiing, driving, skydiving, or even Russian Roulette?

If you're visual then the charts and graphs will allow you to see how your risk compares on many different risk levels.

Why use Risk Converter?

Medical decisions are critical and require a comprehensive understanding of the risks involved.

There are two problems with this. First, there isn't a standard for describing risk. Second, most people don't understand risk and probability well enough to know what is a high or a low risk (Possibly because there is no standard).

Without a standard for measuring and describing risk, information is often presented in various formats, such as percentages, decimals, odds ratios, and even esoteric notations like exponential values. This lack of consistency leads to confusion, doubt, and potentially life-threatening mistakes.

It's challenging for most people to gauge the significance of figures like "1 in 100" or determine whether a 4% risk is high or low.

This additional lack of understanding creates a barrier to making informed decisions, for the general public, in regards to their own health, safety, and in some cases, survival.

Most, if not all, of the research for risk converter and formulas was done on NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information). Bugs are possible as this is still in progress so verify your results on your own, as always.
